Juhyup Kim

Juhyup Kim is the CEO and Lead Solutions Engineer at Songdo IT Solution. With a track record of delivering production-grade AI solutions to government institutions, he brings both the technical depth and delivery discipline that enterprise projects demand.

His engineering career began at the Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere (CIRA) in the U.S., where he developed large-scale calibration programs for C-band radar systems. His work provided atmospheric scientists with high-quality, reliable data to derive meaningful insights from. During this time, he participated in large-scale research campaigns, including the RELAMPAGO field campaign, which involved collaboration with NOAA and NASA.

He was selected for South Korea's highly competitive alternative military service as a professional research personnel, one of only 2,300 positions granted nationwide each year. Placed at a private AI consulting firm, he developed AI-based smart disaster monitoring systems for the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA), covering onshore CCTVs and offshore buoy cameras. These systems delivered real-time insights into weather and ocean conditions with clear numerical metrics, directly supporting disaster monitoring operations. As a result, KMA officials gained live situational awareness while manual workload dropped significantly, allowing them to redirect focus toward higher-value analysis and decision-making. He owned the full project lifecycle from initial research through production deployment, and served as the primary bridge between the technical team and executive decision-makers.
